More details for the ‘Reston Midline’ development revealed

Demolition was recently completed in preparation for the construction of new townhomes from developer EYA. Last week, EYA updated their “coming soon” website with additional details that come closer to confirming the ultimate layout of their upcoming neighborhood.

Dubbed “The Townhomes at Reston Station,” EYA’s site describes their portion of the development as “115 new townhomes thoughtfully designed for modern lifestyles with sophisticated kitchens, lofts with rooftop terraces, and two-car garage parking.”

EYA also shares a site image (above). The townhome cluster will be located in the southeast quadrant of the neighborhood. This is consistent with the alternate development plan approved by Fairfax County last year (shown below for comparison).

We speculated before that EYA would go with the plan for increased residential, despite the county’s preference for a development plan that included more retail along Reston Station Boulevard. Now, with the economy recessing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EYA is probably patting themselves on the back for opting for more housing in lieu of retail.

EYA plans to have a sales office onsite this year. A marketing representative confirmed that the model unit and first homes (priced around $800k and above) should deliver about a year from now.
