Construction is practically complete on the Herndon Metro station of the Silver Line, which is positioned to be primarily a commuter station when it opens sometime next year. A couple of large parking structures surround it on the south side, while the north side connects with medium- to low-density office parks and residential. Higher density construction exists about a half-mile to the west, but pedestrian connections are sparse at this point.
